Spire Rock, X-Spire, Triangulation Peak, and Boca Cave

Spire Rock and X-spire are two great pinnacles in the Detroit region that majestically crown a lightly forested ridge crest alongside the Triangulation Peak Trail. For the adventure climber these enticing pinnacles that sit along the crest of the ridge provide great panoramic views of the Cascade Mountain range. Spire Rock fits the typical northern Oregon pinnacle geological composition of weather-worn grainy-textured andesite adequate for friction but a little bit friable in places.

Boca Cave is a popular destination for hikers visiting the rock promontory of Triangulation Peak. The cave offers visitors the opportunity to tour this unique feature tucked immediately under the peaks northeast shoulder. Bring a camera so that you can take a picture of the rewarding view of Mt. Jefferson from inside the cave.
